A Q&A with Laura Castro

In a nutshell, tell us about yourself.

Being from Colombia and travelling around my country heightened my awareness of the profound bond communities share with their ecosystems, as well as the detrimental effects of climate change. This realisation fuelled my determination to embark on a journey towards a Master’s degree in Environmental and Sustainable Development, going outside my country and changing my career path. Today, at Eco, I am witnessing my aspirations transform into my profession, and the results are undeniably positive.

What are you most proud of?

My capacity to adapt and always move out of my comfort zone.

Name three things on your bucket list.

Learn to play the drums; Do a decent illustration on procreate; Own a highland cow.

What keeps you awake at night?

My anxiety and maybe a cup of coffee after 3pm.

What’s the best holiday you’ve ever had?

When I went to Cancun with my family.

What do you most wish for in your work?

A space to grow as a professional.
