A Q&A with Victoria Verdesoto Phothirath

In a nutshell, tell us about yourself

I am interested in climate change adaptation, governance and tackling climate risk, particularly in cities. It’s a well-known statistic: over half of the world’s population lives in urban areas. This makes cities a major contributor to climate change, but I also believe they represent a huge opportunity in building more equitable and resilient environments and communities. My work at E Co. allows me to contribute towards this goal. Other than that, I love working, volunteering and studying in international and diverse environments, but I am a madrileña at heart!

What are your loves?

Dinner with my friends, my pets, skiing, and Disco music

What are your hates?

Slow walkers, people who only read the headlines and British weather.

Name three things on your bucket list.

Walk the Camino de Santiago, live in another continent, and learn how to crochet.

Which book has changed your life?

I can’t just name one, so it would have to be If this is a Man by Primo Levi and The Mushroom at the End of the World by Anna Tsing.
