Victoria Verdesoto Phothirath is a Consultant specialising in climate adaptation and climate finance, with a focus on urban resilience and local adaptation. She has contributed to GCF and GEF project development globally, focusing on EbA and NbS, for organisations such as IUCN, UNDP and GIZ, as well as M&E and fund support. She also has experience in stakeholder engagement and capacity development. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.

In a nutshell, tell us about yourself

I am interested in climate change adaptation, governance and tackling climate risk, particularly in cities. It’s a well-known statistic: over half of the world’s population lives in urban areas. This makes cities a major contributor to climate change, but I also believe they represent a huge opportunity in building more equitable and resilient environments and communities. My work at E Co. allows me to contribute towards this goal. Other than that, I love working, volunteering and studying in international and diverse environments, but I am a madrileña at heart!
